WEATHER POLICY

Inclement Weather

In the event of inclement weather, some locations may decide to cancel classes.  In the event a class is cancelled, we will send an email and send a text (if subscribed) in a timely manner. There are some instances where the cancellation comes last-minute as it is a course by course decision.

Excessive Heat

If the heat index is 90-99 degrees, First Tee – Greater Detroit will provide extra water and snacks.
If the heat index is over 100 degrees, First Tee – Greater Detroit will cancel class.

Dismissing Class Early

If we need to dismiss class early due to incoming weather, a coach from your child’s class will call or text you. Please make sure we have your preferred phone number on file.

First Tee — Greater Detroit guarantees at least four of the five classes registered for to be completed (five of the six for the 5-6 year old class). If two or more classes need to be cancelled, First Tee – Greater Detroit will schedule a makeup class. If we are unable to provide a makeup date, First Tee – Greater Detroit will offer prorated credits or refunds (depending on the situation) to families.

Please do not call the golf course. We try to be good “guests” and it can be detrimental to their business if their phone lines are tied up with First Tee parent calls.
