FIRST TEE — GREATER DETROIT NAMES NEW EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

DETROIT – OCTOBER 26, 2020  – First Tee — Greater Detroit, an initiative of The Children’s Foundation, announced today that Mary Ann Lievois has been appointed Executive Director, effective October 5, 2020.  Lievois will lead the organization and oversee all planning and day-to-day operations including programming featuring The First Tee’s nine core values and other golf learning activities in southeast Michigan. Lievois joins First Tee following a successful 35-year career in business development.  She has worked with large corporate and small business environments helping lead teams to success with a blend of financial, marketing, and human capital competencies. She was most recently with Interior Systems Contract Group where she served 20 years as Chief Executive Officer. Prior to that she spent 12 years in banking.  Lievois is known for her ability to build relationships and has an entrepreneurial spirit and track record of delivering results. “Mary Ann was selected as the new executive director to lead the organization in this next phase of the chapter’s journey here in Metro Detroit,” shared Lawrence J. Burns President & CEO of The Children’s Foundation. “Her leadership capability, passion for golf and desire to give back to the community will serve the organization well going forward.” Lievois' second stage career goal was to work in the non-profit sector helping children. She has been motivated by multiple previous volunteer experiences mentoring young people in Detroit schools , which has provided her  a solid knowledge base for this new role. “Helping young girls and boys find their voice and improve self- confidence while playing golf makes sense to me because I was a shy kid,” stated Lievois “I look forward to guiding our kids to set personal goals for advancing through the five levels of programming, while making new friends and embracing positive values and behaviors inherent to success in all aspects of their lives.” About First Tee - Greater Detroit (“First Tee”) First Tee (www.firsttee.org) is a 501(c)3 nonprofit youth development organization under the umbrella of PGA TOUR, Inc.
